Outplanted Coral Monitoring

After corals are outplanted, these individual corals are monitored regularly to track growth, mortality, and health indicators. Freshly outplanted corals can be vulnerable to predation or bleaching/mortality from the stress of being moved to their new reef. Typically, these corals are checked within the first week or two to document any loss. Outplanted corals that are part of research projects and larger monitoring programs will be visited upwards of once a month for the first year to track and document growth. This data is crucial for informing our decisions for future outplanting.
